| It's an honor and a privilege to be selected to carry on the torch of this league. We have a great collection of original owners with some new owners that makes this a VERY active league. I wanted to take over this league from Ahmed because when he was forming his new leagues, he had no leagues that were keepers or points per reception. He approached me to join one of his leagues, but owning 18 teams, 14 of them keepers, and running 3, I was looking for a specific type of league, and Ahmed was open minded and constructed this format which I love. A little about myself, I played baseball and majored in accounting at UConn, class of 96, became a CPA for a regional accounting firm after graduation but after 5 years of running other peoples' companies I decided to buy out a Title Insurance Company, restructure it, and grow it. Being self-employed has given me some certain luxuries of having a lot of computer time when the real estate market is not popping, so you will always have my undivided attention as you did Ahmed and Kirk before him. But I do not run a ton of leagues just 3, so answers to questions or problems should be swift. I have run a local league for what has to be 12 years now, and we recently restructured it to include online players that we have the best relationships with and are the most respected and active owners. This was our first year on the MyFantasyLeague website which is quite different from CBS which is a piece of crap J I also run a company that hold a ton of Personal Seat Licenses, all in prime locations for the new Giants Stadium. I have been playing in Ahmed's league and against him in others. He super guy who will prove to have big shoes to fill. When Ahmed started these leagues, he said it was "our league". I am always open for new ideas that anyone thinks will make the league unique. But also "if it ain't broke, don't fix it". Anyway, we have all off season to spit ball ideas. I don't intend on raising the fees unless the whole league unanimously wants to. Last year we changed our local league to $150 to attract more owners, but by the end of the season we had a 13-0 vote to increase it back to $200, so you never know. There will be no material changes without the league approving it. During the course of the season I will email each of you separately just to talk shop and get your input and thoughts of the league on a one on one basis. Also are there a lot of owners on facebook? Perhaps we can start a fan group where everyone can meet, talk strategy, a little smack, and get to know each other better. The best leagues I am in are the ones that there is the most communication not just of trade offers, but of personalities, their line of work, family etc. I am very excited to take the ball and run with it. The only thing I have to do is make sure I open a merchant account on paypal for trades involving future draft picks. I have always operated by check because it was a local league....well mostly cash, but now that I have gone interstate, I have to have a second option for everyone. Good luck everyone this year. I see a lot of lower teams from last year get much better. That is what makes a dynasty league fun.....can you build a winner and KEEP it a winner. Commissioner-Elect Brian PS. My skin of my team automatically changed to the one I use. I dont know if it did on all the owner's pages. If you already have selected your own skin (background) in your franchise setup then it shouldnt affect you, but when you are logged out, ite will be green with some T and A on the top. If this is confusing, I can try to change it back. Sorry- Brian |
